    We have our first Women's Class Promotion Testing tonight, Tuesday, May 22nd 2018. These students have trained hard and will be asked to execute basic techniques and have a working knowledge or Kyokushin terminology, philosophy and history.  White belt students will performing Taikyoku Sono Ichi and Sokugi Taikyoku Sono Ichi. This is the first two kata's.  They will do light sparring, conditioning and flexibility exercises. This promotion is from White Belt to Orange Belt. We wish these ladies

    This month we reached a major milestone with Ultimate Martial Arts Academy. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary and couldn't have done it without you.     Women's Karate Classes
    Ladies Karate Are you ready to build strength and confidence, increase flexibility and feel incredibly empowered? We have started a new karate class just for women. It's traditional Japanese karate training and practical self-defense. These classes will run twice a week - Tuesday and Thursday from 7 pm until 8 pm. Try it out for 1 week free!     Congratulations to our teacher, Sensei Dan, who was promoted to Shihan.  Shihan means "teacher of teachers."   This is a well deserved title!  He will always be our sensei, but we will now call him Shihan Dan or Shihan Webster. (Picture will be updated with Shihan Dan and his new belt soon.)

    As a student rises in rank, time between promotion tests will increase. Students need to know all the requirements for their rank,  not just be able to perform the latest kata or technique they learned. For example, the minimum training time between brown belt and black belt is 1 year. All students are expected to attend class even if they are not testing that day.     Students & Parents Our dojo is collecting clean, gently-used children's clothing and shoes to donate for shipment to the children of Haiti. As you already know, they had much devastation from Hurricane Matthew. Please bring any donations you may have to the dojo by end of class Saturday 10/22/16. We will then deliver them at one time to Cocoa Beach Half Marathon race management who are supplying portable storage for the items.
